Scores of individuals are at present feared injured after safety operatives and Muslim youth clashed at Juma’at Mosque in Yola, Adamawa State.
The conflict, occurred at about 2:00pm on Friday when the safety operatives arrived the Damilu Jumma’at Mosque to implement the ban on public gathering imposed by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in a bid to curb the unfold of Coronavirus within the nation, based on a worshipper.
Violence erupted when a mixed workforce of regulation enforcement operatives stormed the mosque and allegedly arrested the imam and a few prime officers.
Irate youth on the prayer floor had been stated to have violently attacked the operatives, pelting stones and metals at them.
An eyewitness, instructed SaharaReporters that many worshippers and safety personnel sustained accidents within the violent conflict.
But the police have denied the declare, saying there was neither violence, nor arrest on the mosque.
Spokesperson for the police in Adamawa, Suleiman Nguroje, instructed our correspondent that there was no damage inflicted on any worshipper.

“On getting there, we learnt the imam had instructed the congregation to disperse as a result of there will not be Jumma’at prayer.
“But some youths began shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’, inflicting panic and scare.
“However, our men were timely, so we were able to contain the situation before it degenerated into violence.”
