Assessing national guidelines on responding to violence against children in the Eastern Mediterranean Region

In 2019 WHO published guidelines on the health sector response to child maltreatment which describe the role of frontline healthcare providers in recognizing child abuse and neglect and providing appropriate physical and mental health care to child victims of violence. WHO’s Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean is using these guidelines to assess and where needed improve existing national health protocols to ensure that child victims of violence receive appropriate support and treatment.
